Sent LOR, SASE and bookplate to:
Prof. Stephen Hawking, CH, CBE, FRS, FRSA, Ph. D.
c/o Centre for Mathematical Sciences
Wilberforce Road
CAMBRIDGE
CB3 0WA
England
Received my bookplate back with his official stamp on it, since we all know he is unable to physically write, along with a letter from his assistant and her signature on a verification sticker.

Think what you'd like. I'm happy with my result. I'm not going to lose any sleep over you thinking it's a waste.WaterBox1990 wrote:This is the stupidest request I have seen today. Wow. WASTE

Re: Stephen Hawking Stamped Success
You wrote and requested a stamped signature? Answer this, why not just print out his signature and save postage expense?
Re: Stephen Hawking Stamped Success
I didn't realize that my doing this somehow negatively affected your life. It was my prerogative to do this, so I did it. I realized going into it that it would be a stamped signature since everyone knows that he commissioned a stamp years ago when he lost his ability to write. And yes, I know that his assistants are the ones that stamp it. But perhaps I wanted to write to him just to express my admiration to the man for everything he's done. Isn't that part of doing this? To let people know how you admire them for what they've done in life? And so I'm down a few bucks in postage. I'll get over it.WaterBox1990 wrote:You wrote and requested a stamped signature? I like your attitude. I just don't think his staff read ALL his fan mail to him.......

Re: Stephen Hawking Stamped Success
More than likely not. I can't imagine the amount of not just fan mail but correspondence he gets on a daily basis. He probably has to be one of the most busy people on the face of the earth right now. But there's always that off chance that his staff may even mention it to him in passing.WaterBox1990 wrote:like your attitude. I just don't think his staff read ALL his fan mail to him.......
