Well I recently moved into a new home, and our mail box system is completely diffrerent now! Our mailboxes are like shelves with doors that lock. I never have to worry about my mail being bent. I love it!
Thats sounds like the perfect mailbox....Your talking about the kind where there are a lot of peoples mailboxes, right? You dont have to worry about someone knocking your mailbox down either. I hate when people knock down mailboxes...grrr..

I decieded I would see what happenes if I write "Do Not Bend" on the last letter I wrote.
Yup! That's it! LOL aww, people knock your mail box over? How mean! :|
My mailman used to bend my mail no matter how larger or how many times i wrote do not bend on my envelopes!
Same here. Now she tends to not bend them. We have a bigger mailbox. But, she still bends things when it is not needed. Like just the other day I got an autograph in the mail. It was in a 9x12 size envelope and it was all that was in the mailbox. She put a huge crease right down the middle of it. That wasn't needed. She could have very easily just set it in the box sideways.

I wouldn't do that. If you talk to him, he may get even madder and start destroying the mail. I would have a talk with the postmaster or your local post office.

Thanks for your opinion rpbluesman. :) {up} Personally, I don't understand why the mailman would get upset if I spoke with him! Especially If I told him that these envelopes contain something important to me. Then I'd hope he would understand and at least make an effort to NOT bend them. I honestly don't think me going to the post office with my complaint will do much so I'm better off talking directly with my mailman.

But of course that's IMO.

I agree, talking to him could help, and if I were him, telling my bosses would make me madder then talking to me. and if he does start destroying your mail, thats a federal offense

All very good points. If the mailman seems like a friendly person, then I would reccomend talking to him. If he seems the non-sociable type, then I would go to his superiors.

I'm from England... living in Australia, I know that in England they just put it in the porch through your door and the letters are fine... Australia is a different issue!!! It's like they are in training for Mr Universe... no matter how much you write "PLEASE (nicely) DO NOT BEND" they still insist on bending them!!! {down} thumbs down from me....
Also annoying that in Aus there is no (to my knowledge) padded envelope that is blank... they all have 'Australian Post' on them (which I presume wouldn't be good if your sending it as an SAE overseas.

Anyway thats all the whinging from me today...

All the best in your collections,
