HELP FOR A BEGINNER

Unread post by Sean SJazz »

Hello, everyone, i hope you are all having a great week. i am new to this whole collecting Autograph hobby of mine. when i started i sent out about maybe 20 requests. and i noticed that some of the celebrities i was requesting had the same address die example William Morris Endeavor Entertainment was one that was common. but i am yet to receive any of those original that i sent to them. can anyone tell me is this is common with this or what not? AS far as, is it because i sent so many or do those who i sent to really NOT like to sign? any info would be great. as said i am new to this whole cool yet challenging world. i am just confused and annoyed i guess lol. thanks for your time.
best wishes Sean Sjazz

Don't even both sending anything to William Morris or Spanky Taylor!

They only send out fakes.

I cannot offer too much insight as I have not sent to William Morris Endeavour.
Yet I know that Elijah Wood, who is with that company, sends out PrePrints.
It is true that you may end up sending to the same few agencies, but then you learn which ones reply and which ones do not. Sometimes it is just the celeb themselves though...
I also try not to send too many to the same agency in one go though. So far it's worked out ok for me :)

May I ask who you sent requests to and how long ago they were sent?
To see more of my successes please look at my Facebook page:

I personally don't mind PPs or APs, so I'll mail there. No success with WME yet. But I sent my first one there in Feb, so time will tell.

Really? I have had successes from WM before... :?
Britney Spears==>> 6 #1 albums. 2 diamond albums. 8 platinum albums. 400+ awards. 200M+ records sold. Britney has sold over 45 million records this decade despite only releasing three albums. Globally, Britney has more #1 singles than any other female artist except Madonna and Rihanna. "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney is the 5th best selling album of the 2000s decade worldwide. Britney is the only female artist to chart her first seven albums in the top two of the Billboard 200. Britney has achieved at least one #1 album in 3 different decades (90's, 00's, 10's). Britney is the first solo female artist from the 90's to reach 1 billion Spotify streams. Despite NOT even being a single, 'Tom's Diner', ft. Britney , has become Giorgio Moroders best-selling digital track. 2015 Billboard Awards ratings reached a 14-year high, with numbers peaking during Britney's performance. She IS the princess of Pop. One example of a great signer from William Morris is Emma Stone... lots of people on this forum have gotten her autograph using that address! So I think it depends a lot on the celebrity and whether or not they want to sign, how busy they are, etc.

This hobby is all about patience! It can be very hard sometimes but worth it! :D

Thank you all for your feedback it is great. some of the people i sent for was: Cole & Dylan Sprouce, (independently)Elijah Wood, and Dakota Goyo.do these people sign at all? i sent them out between September and October of last year (2011). i know some of you asked me that so i wanted to answer you back. and thank you all for the help and info i guess the bottom lines is depends on the person and to have patience. and as far as the autopen or pp if i get anything back i am happy. thank you all again for your input.
best wishes Sean Sjazz

Hi!
A good tip to see if you are wasting your money or not, is to type the name of your celebrity you wish to write to in the Fanmail search box.
Look under "Successes". If you do not see at least 1-2 successes for the person, it is probably not worth writing to them! You probably will get only a pre-print if you're lucky or maybe nothing.

BUT! If you are a HUGE fan and don't mind possibly losing money to take a gamble that could turn out amazing, by all means send it anyway. However, there are some celebs that just really, really won't send anything personal.

This is just my opinion.

What this REALLY depends on is how much you care. Do you mind paying 45/90 cents [depending on if you send a SASE or not] for a PP? I don't personally.
