Re: Wrestling Collectors?
I used to send 3 items to wrestlers, usually 1 8x10 and 2 cards, but recently its getting more expensive to send to the us (I live in the uk) so I've just been sending 2 cards in a small envelope. Personally I think 3 is more than enough, then maybe send again a few months later send more if you need.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
i always send 4-5 cards and i always tell them that they may keep as many as they'd like. most of the time i get 2-3 cards back signed.
im pretty sure they keep the cards for themselves if not then maybe they keep them for the sake of gifts when people just send them a SASE and LOR with no photo or anything.
I've had some big pickups lately that I will be sharing tomorrow, all mail order purchases from signings because I live in a deadzone and my TTMs are on a coldstreak as well.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
On the bright side, it appears they are cutting ties with Ric Flair after the latest flap between the two parties.roulette wrote:Not sure if anyone has ever tried or considered trying to send items to TNA stars at Direct Auto, but I sent a few photos I took at Lockdown to the most recent signing in Jackson, MS to be signed by Velvet Sky and Mr Anderson after speaking to the office manager there and getting her approval. Well, it turns out that the promotions director is a d-bag and wouldn't even give the talent the option of deciding if they wanted to sign it or not and told the office manager to RTS it. Yet another letdown by the company that is trying to market a campaign touting how much their fans matter.
That might open up money to sign someone that can contribute to the weekly show.
I loved (for totally selfish reasons) having Flair on the roster for autograph signings, etc., but the money they were paying him could have been used on young talent that could help the company for a long time.
Re: Wrestling Collectors?
The day started with bad news ( Jackson, MS Direct), but it's picked up in a BIG way. A friend of mine that lives in Pensacola, FL went to the Direct Auto signing the Saturday before Sacrifice and got his wife to take along an 8x10 and 5 cards I sent to them for me to get signed by RVD. Those all came in today, and he threw in a bunch of extra RVD cards he took with him as extras from what he had. Final count? 15 trading cards (all different) and my personalized 8x10. Photos will be up on Facebook [s]later[/s] now in albums 'Signed 8x10s' & Trading Cards vol 3.
I saw that, but then again we discussed this at Lockdown after meeti him that his time in TnA seemed to be coming to an end. The thought o what they'll do with that freed up money is also terrifying. Maybe they'll pick up Morrison and Melina with it, I'm sure for what they pay Flair they could probably bring both in.CubsFanKEC1982 wrote: On the bright side, it appears they are cutting ties with Ric Flair after the latest flap between the two parties.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
For the most part, I will send out one or two trading cards (depending on what I have) and a blank unruled 3x5 index card. I don't know if I ever had a specific reason, but this is just how I've always done it.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
From a collecting standpoint, I'm glad I got to meet Hogan and Flair through TNA. Now it'd be great if they let both go (which they won't with Hogan unfortunately) and spend the $ on useful talent. Instead they have King Mo, Brooke Hogan and Alex Silva (who at least is a wrestler) so far. After watching Garett Bischoff last past actual talent in last week's battle royal and Devon sell for him (just like Angle, Gunner and Daniels have in the past), coupled with the news of Brooke Hogan's signing, it's getting pretty hard to watch the show. I guess if it was storyline and the Bischoffs and Hogans drew heat, I could say they were doing their job well. But drawing heat because you're legit milking TNA for all it's worth and destroying the company is disgusting.
From multiple accounts, Dixie is a huge part of the problem too. Pretty sad in my opinion.
I'd rather not see Morrison and Melina signed. If they join, they'll just be booked to run through the TNA roster (originals and non- ex-WWE talent), and make more than they're worth. I've met Melina, so I have no need for her collecting-wise and no desire to watch her booked like Gail Kim is being booked as unstoppable. No interest in Morrison.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
I think there's two sides to it with Hogan and Bischoff. Lots of people have said they help a ton behind the scenes with individual wrestlers but to have their kids on the show to me really hurts them. I think there will always be a place for Hulk Hogan and Sting on a wrestling show, but they can't be in every segment.
As for Flair, I think it's great for TNA he's a waste of money at this point, trouble behind the scenes, and at the Hall of Fame just talked about how he wants to come back to WWE.
Collecting purposes, Hogan is way more personable to fans at signings than Flair is.
