Hi, I'm a bit late on posting this but here we go.

Sent a letter and 2 pictures to Seth sometime in (April 2015) and received my pictures back signed along with a pre printed picture of Brian and dedication to myself.

Unfortunately the signature isn't Seth's. His father reads most of his fan mail. When someone receives an autograph with just Seth's initials, like you did "S.M.", it usually is signed by his father.

That is correct You are right it is his father that signs his mail.

You don't know that, no one knows apart from Seth and his father. The S and the M are the exact same as Seth MacFarlanes signature. Seth probably just writes that for quickness.

It is true that his father Ron takes care of his mail, actually unless you're writing for a good cause its unlikely you'll get an authentic unless its in person.

The numbered sketches he sends out are prints, somebody here got an original of those prints which you might find upon a more detailed search on here.

Its still nice you have something back.

If you use the search at the top of the forum you will find other returns from people, stories included, even a letter from Ron himself to somebody about how he deals with Seths mail and how he sends out sketches of characters which are printed, until one member here actually received a real original because they were looking for an item to auction for charity and so Ron sent that person a real sketch and not a print and so on.

I don't know you and have no reason to lie to you, this forum is about collecting, sharing experiences and helping each other further their collections.

My intention is not to cause you any problems, just to educate where there is proof posted previously on this forum.

These forums are for collectors and autograph hunters to help each other out, share their successes, and trade information about people who are known to genuinely reply, working addresses, secretarials etc. And there are plenty of posts that everyone can use to help verify the truth behind their successes. There are also lots of sites that provide independent verification such as mike the fanboy, where you can compare with autographs obtained at premieres with pictorial evidence.

At the end of the day, you can believe something to be real as much as you like, but that doesnt make it so.
