While I respect your post, I must somewhat disagree with you, at least for me, personally. I understand making a quick buck by getting multiple autographs. But for me, personally, the bigger a fan of someone I am, the more autographs I want of them! lolchadallen985 wrote:Nice success on the photo. I wonder if part of the reason he didnt sign the card or answer your question is because a typical fan would want 1 autograph. With you asking for 2 autographs, plus wanting to send a multi-signed ball to him to get signed. He might be thinking the same thing that I am.. that you might be trying to make money off of his name and fame. I am not saying thats what you're doing, but 1 is usually enough for a fan. Maybe hold off a couple months and send him the card. I wouldn't send the ball though, you might lose it. I would save that for a card show to get signed.
And while I respect you post I must ask.... You said you somewhat agree with me, so where do you agree with me? LOL I have been a collector of autographs for over 20 years and I am a lifelong and die hard Yankees fan. Shoot, my wedding theme was all Yankees including a cake of Yankee Stadium. I understand how more autographs is better, but I am looking at it in a way that the player might be looking at it. If you were a former athlete and you received mail requesting more than 1 autograph, and considering how huge ebay is and how people are making money like they are by selling them.. you would be willing to sign more then 1 at a time? I think thats also why athletes now charge, so if anyone is going to make money off of their sigs, that its them. I was just saying spread it out a little and not request more then 1 at a time. I still wouldnt send the ball, lol.Eddie08 wrote:While I respect your post, I must somewhat disagree with you, at least for me, personally. Congrats to the OP.
The way I agree with you is how you see it from the player's perspective. From what I've seen from players signing in person, you are totally correct. If someone wants more than one, he is red flagged. And for that matter, if the person asks for the sweet spot, you can tell the player gets uneasy. Heck, when I got Mike Scioscia on a mini helmet on saturday(post in the inperson area) I asked him to sign it on the bill and for some reason, I don't think he liked that. And while I like getting as many autographs as possible, I agree with the spread it out statement. I can't remember ever sending more than one item to a player, thats just my deal. The way I look at it is, do I go and make sure I get one or risk it trying to get more and end up with nothing? I'll take the one!chadallen985 wrote:And while I respect you post I must ask....
