Question: Typed or handwritten?

Unread post by seannelly13 »

I have a question. Does it matter if the letter that I send to a celebrity to get them to sign a photo is typed or handwritten? What do most people do? Thank you in advance!

I always handwrite all of my requests because it is more personal. I have not ever typed a letter. I take my time and use my best handwriting.
I mainly collect voice actor and Disney related autographs-Any questions with Disney successes/addresses? Feel free to PM me!

I used to type them, but then I saw most people here pooh-poohed typing, so I switched to handwriting. If your letter is sincere and clearly not a form letter, I don't think it matters. I think I got back just as many successes from typed letters as I have handwritten ones.

Tom Baker, Patrick Stewart (vv), Peter Cullen, Robin Atkin Downes, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Trace Beaulieu, George Lowe, Joe Dante, Willem Dafoe, Jeffrey Brown, Maurice LaMarche, Alan Oppenheimer, Penn & Teller (last success 10/14/14)

I always type mine. My handwriting isn't that great and they probably wouldn't be able to read it

Thank you all so much! I think I will do half and half. Type to the ones I just want an autograph from, but then actually handwrite to the actors I actually follow and love.

You might find it beneficial to make extra sure that the typed ones you send requesting an autograph do not sound like form letters with little more than the celeb's name inserted. I'm just mentioning that because it has happened with some of my earlier ones and I hardly got any responses from that one batch.
