GLOSSY trading cards & photos (8x10)
I've read on here that when sending a glossy photo or card to get signed TTM, you should wipe it down to get the gloss off.
Is it entirely necessarry to do that? I sort of like the gloss. If you keep the gloss on, will it result in a garbage autograph?
If so, what is the best way to go about getting the gloss off?

use a white eraser on it.
it will still look shiny pretty much, but will lessen the chances of a smudged auto by a lot!

I always use glossy photos and this is the first time I have ever heard about wiping the gloss off them. Also I have never had a smudged autograph.

it seems to happen way more on trading cards then photos...it makes the ink "bubble" a lot of the times.

Mayhem13, may I ask what you meant by a white eraser? Are you talking about erasers that you would use when wrting with pencil?

I beleive he's referring to the big block ones you can get like these:
then you just lightly rub it over the entire photo.

Re: GLOSSY trading cards & photos (8x10)
From what I hear it works. It basically just dulls down the photo and makes it look like the matte type photo paper. You would have to find a glossy photo you don't want and test different markers on it.
Dull down one half of the photo and see what you like better.
