I send handwritten letters all the time. Aside from it being more personal, I simply like creating my mails the traditional way. I'm an amateur artist and I like doing things manually. If relevant, I add some doodles or drawings.

Years ago (before I had a computer) I used to handwrite everything. Now it's all type written.

I handwrite. I just don't think typed letters look as nice as handwritten! It's just a personal thing for me :)

I used to type because I've had many hand injuries (fractures even!) and besides that my handwriting is just really weak. But I found that most people did not really reply and so I began writing but it also may have to do with the fact that I'm more savvy on sending postage and stuff, plus a bit older. I always apologize for my handwriting unless I'm having a "good" day and it looks alright.

Hand {up} but my handwritng is aweful too. So what I try to do is treat my letters like a drawing, i.e. I draw my letters out...making sense? For some reason I can draw letters out nicely than I can write them normally

Thanks for all the replies; I guess we'll see if it makes a difference. I only started writing again on May 27th, so I haven't gotten anything back as yet. The last time I wrote to someone was back in November -- Patty McCormack -- and she even responded with a hand-written note to my type-written letter saying how nice it was.
2014 Successes:
Tom Baker, Patrick Stewart (vv), Peter Cullen, Robin Atkin Downes, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Trace Beaulieu, George Lowe, Joe Dante, Willem Dafoe, Jeffrey Brown, Maurice LaMarche, Alan Oppenheimer, Penn & Teller (last success 10/14/14)
