Artists Cards?
I would like to send some requests to a few Pixar animators and I was wondering what exactly are artists cards and where could I buy them? Could I make them myself with photo paper?
Thanks for any help!

Hi,
I was wondering the same thing whether we can make them on our own or not  ..I was actually wondering if I can use magazine pages with the person's pic and stick the picture on a hard pice of paper called 'stag blanc'.I don't know if you'ver ever heard of it..Good luck

Re: Artists Cards?
Kind of.
This is the success that used them.

I'm not sure how big they are or anything, or even what they're mad of. If they're shiny or dull etc.

they also have these available, which are slightly different then the ones in the post, but appear to serve the same purposes

I'll see if I can dig up info on the others specifically though

No. Don't use photo paper to make them. Use the thicker card stock paper and cut them down to size. If you are going to do this, it is recommended that you purchase a paper cutter. It can be a bit of an expense to buy one, but can come in handy to make your own custom index cards (often refered to by the abbreviation CIC). You can use a trading card that is junk to you for a template.Johnny's Fan wrote:I would like to send some requests to a few Pixar animators and I was wondering what exactly are artists cards and where could I buy them? As for the autograph cards, I have some of the baseball ones and they come in handy from time to time for IP autographs. I always carry them with me when I go to a game just in case.
Basically, they are more like a matte-type finish, sort of like the old-style trading cards.Johnny's Fan wrote:If they're shiny or dull etc.

Re: Artists Cards?
Hey, that post you are referring to belongs to me, so maybe I can help you out! Sorry I'm jumping into this thread a little late, I just came across it. The cards are 2-1/2" × 3-1/2" and are made specifically for artists to draw or paint on them...I bought these exact cards here. I sent out the Bristol cards to the Pixar animators. These are some VERY handy and neat little cards. http://www.dickblick.com/products/strat ... ing-cards/Johnny's Fan wrote:Kind of.
