Wait time???

I'm still new to this so I was wondering how long you should wait to recieve something back when people that sent around the same time as you and after you have already gotten something back from a celeb?? ITs only been about two and a half months since I sent this one but like I said, people have sent after me have gotten successes since then. I plan on waiting awhile longer because I feel it is RUDE to keep sending to a celeb. Just wanted to know if anyone has a good rule of thumb for this kind of thing??

In general, you could be waiting for a reply for a week, a month, a year... maybe even more. That will always vary.


But, if enough people have sent autographs to a celebrity that you have sent to as well, and if they have received a reply (and you haven't), then there shouldn't be a problem with you re-sending a request. Honest.

It's quite possible that it may have gotten lost; or because of the celebrities schedule, the timing just hasn't been right. Worst case scenario: you'll get two autographs back over time.


This happened to me when I mailed to Wayne Rogers. A year went by without anything, so I sent him another request. The next day, however, the year-old request came in the mail! I wrote Wayne a letter apologizing for my second request, just to be polite. Many people do sadly abuse the system, but it shouldn't be an issue if you've had a long enough wait.

I think you should at least wait a year before resending your request. I've had it several times were people that send a request later then me got a return before me. But a few weeks/months later mine showed up also. It depends who you write to of course, but I think a year is a good general rule to keep.

Sometimes the envelope gets lost in the stacks of fanmail and maybe they just didn't get to yours. Celebs can only sign so much in a certain amount of time

I know I figure Ill get it back eventually. Just wanted opinions on a timeframe in case it was lost (always possable).

I sent a request to Placido Domingo three years ago. I mailed him again about a year and a half ago. Today I got my 3 year old request in the mail. Now I'm just waiting on the year and a half one (if it happens I'll be ecstatic!)
