Re: MOCK US ELECTIONS!!!

Unread post by alyssalikewhoaa »

we were talking about the issues in class today and my friend said something that i thought was so true about McCain. How he doesnt want to do the debate because of the economy and hes stopping campaigning, my friend said "So whats he going to do? be a big baby and every time he doesnt get his way hes just going to sit in a corner and stop until he gets his way" and i thought that was so true.
also i realized how much i havent heard from Biden. All i see on the news is Palin and i really dont like her. I want to hear Joe Bidens opinions not how people are trying to look like Sarah Palin.

Personally I'd vote McCain if I was American. But I know in the UK and in my school I'm one of the only people that would do so. I've always tended to be slightly further to the middle-right of the political spectrum. However, I'd say the Democrats are still a decent party. I admire McCain for what he's been through, and I agree with a lot of his policies (Not all though...). However I'm not keen on Sarah Palin, I can understand why McCain chose her as his VP candidate, but she's far too right-wing for my liking - verging on fascist, so the the one thing that worries me is if McCain gets in and dies (God forbid) we've got her running one of the most powerful countries in the world.

I'd love to have seen McCain choose Rudy Guilliani as his Vp-candidate, but I doubt that would have generated as much interest as choosing Palin.

Maybe what I'm trying to say is I'd vote McCain if there was no chance of Palin becoming President.

Obama & Biden. McCain is just going to be another Bush in my opinion. That will always be my opinion. Neither of them deserve to be in office, but Obama will probably be the most likely to win. Whoever wins...we better keep a close eye on our VPs also...

Sarah Palin was GOVERNOR of the WHOLE STATE of Alaska!
Barack Obama was SENATOR of Illinois! He was not even governor and you guys think he can run a country let alone a state!! .........
Alaska has a population of 683,478, with a density of 1.2/sq mile. Illinois has a population of 12,852,548, with a density of 223.4/sq mile. Sarah Palin hasn't exactly been Governing a fat lot, really. The city of Leeds in the UK has a bigger population than that.

Quoting from Wiki (because I can't be bothered to write it all myself)... Obama went to Harvard Law School, taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. He's held assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works and Veterans' Affairs through December 2006. In January 2007, he left the Environment and Public Works committee and took additional assignments with Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. He also became Chairman of the Senate's subcommittee on European Affairs. As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama has made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.

Whereas Palin went abroad for the first time in 2007. She has a degree in Journalism. And admitted she has no idea what the VP actually does.

I don't know all the details, being British. But I at least know that much.

And just to let you know McCain is a Senator of Arizona and hes the one running for president, NOT Sarah Palin.

Thanks everyone for being so active in this Mock election debate. voting :) {thumb2}

Personally, I would vote McCain if I am American.

I do not think he is 100% qualified but I believe he would do better then Obama. To accomplish things; we must not only dream, but also act; we must not only believe, but also plan. Obama talks too much. In the White House, when he's president, there should be no time for him to give speeches. Obama has never proven himself in any big task, neither has he been given any real responsibilities.

To me Barack Obama is a big, big gimmick. It’s all about the image that his consultant has put together for him. He has no substance, no history, and no experience whatsoever. It is like buying an egg with a nice looking shell from the supermarket only to find out there’s no yolk inside.

Having said that I am not saying Im 100% comfortable with McCain Palin. McCain has cancer and he is 72 years old. Lets say if he dies during the 4 years, Sarah Palin will be president and I do not even want to think about what chaos that will create  She is very ignorant and too conserative. Sarah Palin's face turns red (yes like this:  ) when she gets interviewed by a reporter. She looks very horrified and very scared every single time and then she would give the reporter an irrelevent answer which McCain made her memorized.. Just Cant imagine her as a VP or possibily even the President!

In my opinions I think Rudy Giuliani and John Edwards would be the "fantasy combination" although that would never happen

Keep voting and debating :)

Obama is America's big gimmick, though, just like Bush (i'm not a republican nor democrat, can't you tell? lol). I agree...McCain has a very slim chance of even making it through a full term of presidency, in my opinion. I mean...it's cancer, right? You can't expect him to last that long if he is at 72...Palin will be a deer stuck in headlights if she gets announced president over McCain. I can't imagine how the U.S. would even react to that. I'm still even deciding if i am even going to vote this year. Whoever i vote for, I know i'm going to regret it either way.
