PFC Ysidor M. Sanchez is now 98
Company Sharpshooter, Co F, 117th IR, 30th Inf Div
Ysidor Sanchez was a 21-year-old Army private when he landed at Omaha Beach with the 30th Infantry Division on June 6, 1944. Soon after, he was wounded in the shoulder by shrapnel from a mortar round. He was later wounded a second time in France.
