Re: Comic Book Collectors
OK! Finally im uploading my recent success.
I recently got 2 sketches on index cards back from BPRD artist Tyler Crook

He provided me with an address after e mailing him
I also recieved a sketch of Frank Castle, the Punisher from Carl Potts after emailing him. Mr.Potts also included a signed advertisment for his book.

Last week I also recieved a signed index card from Superman writer, and author of Understanding Comics Scott McCloud. I was hoping for a sketch but he included a small note saying he cant do sketches. Still very cool to have his auto!
I also attended the Calcomiccon in Yorba Linda, CA and if you are from Orange county or anywhere near it i definately recomend attending next year. the admission was only $10 and there were a lot of dealers with excellent prices and a pretty cool raffle.
Anyway, at the con I was able to get writer and artist Timothy Truman to sign 6 comics he did for DC

I was hoping to get a Hawkman sketch from him but he was charging $75 which is a little steep for me
I also got Mark Verheiden who was the writer of Smallville to sign a Superman trade paperback he wrote

I also got some great deals on unsigned comics i may post later. I apologize for the crudity of the pictures i need to get my hands on a scanner.

						Re: Comic Book Collectors
Thank you very much - BTW In 1988 I found a Batman #1 comic along with 50 others including a never opened New York World's Fair 1940 in NM and a Flash Comics #2 in VF in a file cabinet that someone left in storage and stopped paying for it. The Batman was in VG with surface dirt and I got $1,500.00 for it at the time from a (I know now - crook) named Danny Dupcak who owned a store in Hartsdale NY named Fantasia. In the cabinet I also found around 25 NM 1934 and 1935 Goudeys which included a Ruth and a Gehrig, around 20 1934 Batter-Ups not even folded in NM and 30 NY Yankees programs and a couple of 1930s all-star programs. Also there were 6 1930s football cards and wouldn't you know it - one of them was a NM Knute Rockne - the second most valuable football card. There were tons of baseball magazines too. Everything was practically NM because the cabinet was sitting there since 1946 on the 5th floor in a cool area with all the windows blackened out and I guess happened to have the perfect air conditions to preserve all of it. Anyway, I paid $300 for the stuff and sold it for $33,000.00. I wish I had it now!!!!
