Hello, on Oct31st 2013 I sent 3 photos and 1 booklet to the Lewis Ranch. I received an answer on 18th Nov 2013: it included my complete stuff (letter, photos, booklet, postage) with a stamp saying "$20 HAND WRITTEN SIGNATURE, $10 STAMPED SIGNATURE, RETURN SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE".
Again I sent letter, photos, booklet plus $20 on Nov 19th 2013 and on Dec 2nd 2013 I received post from the Lewis Ranch: booklet signed, photos blank, handwritten "funny" note (with a smiley behind "$20 HAND WRITTEN SIGNATURE").
The address that I have used:
Jerry Lee Lewis
The Lewis Ranch
1595 Malone Road
Nesbit, MS 38651
USA

To be honest I think the autograph was given by his staff. I can not imagine " -Lewis" waiting for German fanpost to sign and "earn" 20 Dollars?!? What do you think, does the signature look like smiley-Lewis' signature?
I always find it a little sad when such a legend like Mr. Lewis asks for $20.00 or so for his autograph, I can understand it with old tv actors who were on a tv show 40 years ago but this is Jerry Lee Lewis who was one of the greatest rock n roll singers of all time and at one time was as famous as elvis but after he married his 13 year old cousin he was pretty much done haha I guess he doesn't have much money these days considering he hasn't made any big money in 50 years.
I was just going today to put out the word that he is now charging. The note I got from his Sec states that "Times are hard for the Killer". My guess is that it is more to cover the expenses of processing the requests and not to make money. Being fair to him he really hasn't made much in a half century. If you want him the asking prices on E-Bay are up to the $40 range so the $20 is still a good deal. He's about 78 now so let's give the old guy a break as he was always a good signer. Think about it for a minute-he signs for free and a week later it shows up on E-Bay for $40 how would you feel??
I AGREE - HE CAN'T BE CONDEMNED FOR CHARGING - WE DON'T KNOW WHAT HIS FINANCIAL STATUS IS. EVEN IF HE MAKES A LOT OF MONEY IN ROYALTIES HE MAY BE HELPING FRIENDS AND WHATEVER FAMILY HE HAS LEFT. HE MAY BE USING THE AUTOGRAPH MONEY AND OTHER VENUES TO GIVE TO HIS CHURCH OR CHARITIES. DO NOT JUDGE LEST YOU BE JUDGED.
