Completely new to this; advice much appreciated.

I'm planning to send something to Viggo Mortensen to get signed for my friend as a present, but I have no idea how to; I've browsed a few forums, but I'm still unsure about IRCs. He obviously has a US address, which I've researched and found a working address for, but I have no idea how to go about buying the right amount of IRCs. :? I live in the UK, so it would cost a bit, which I'm aware of, but is there a way I could buy IRCs in the UK without having to go online, or could someone direct me to a UK-based site which I could buy IRCs from?
