Maybe I'm the only one who is a bit concerned, but what's the funny thing about making a person angry? I don't get it...

Mr. Griffiths is a great actor and in the most cases a really nice man. It should be a pleasure to write him a nice (!!!) letter and to send him a stamped envelope.

It's not to offend you, shaun. You did send an IRC and thats mostly ok. But on fanmail.biz I read very often that autograph collectors want to get an angry note from Mr. Griffiths. And this is something I really don't can understand. Nobody needs to make another person angry.

I can't understand why its okay to send your fans rude and angry replies back. His fans are the reason he's rich and famous, and he disrespects them. I can understand him being annoyed when people don't send an sase, but to go out of your way to be an asshole to your fans who took the time to write you is uncalled for....

No. He's not disrespecting his fans. But he's also not willing to pay the postage.

Send him a nice letter, photos and a SASE - and he will reply to you in a very nice way. So he's not disrespecting his fans, but some of the rude behaviour.

Umm have you seen the things he's said in these angry letters? If you don't call that disrespect, I don't know what is... And actually he IS willing to pay postage. Haven't you noticed, on these angry letters he's still paying the postage to return the angry letter? If he doesn't want to sign for people who don't send sase, then he could simply throw away their letters. But he goes out of his way to write rude letters back and pay the postage anyway on the rude letter.

His fans aren't the reason he is rich and famous. The fact the movie studio company put him in their films made him rich and famous. We buy the DVDs to watch the film, we don't buy the DVDs in order to get a free autograph. He doesn't get any of the DVD profit, but just his acting fee in which he acted to get it.

Also, being famous isn't always a good thing. He obviously doesn't like being pestered by fans, so why are you saying that fans making him famous is something he should pay us back for? And most post offices in UK have staff that don't even know hat IRC's are, but that's not his point. His point is that if you don't include stamps on the return envelope, he has to queue up at the post office - whether you put IRC's, money or no stamp at all.

As much as I collect autographs and am fans of lots of actors, I don't believe they owe it to us; I just think of it as a bonus of being their fan.

I bet he didn't become an actor for the fans, but for the fun of being just that AN ACTOR. He is paid to act, not to sign autographs. Yes, he could be a little less rude - but him signing an autograph isn't compulsory.

Although in this case only took the time to write two lines. I always write a sincere full page letter. I think it increases the chance of getting a reply to show you really care.
