Also follow social networking sites like twitter & facebook, find the official accounts of the artisits you like and follow.
This is how I found out about the last 3 in person appearances I attended....
Twitter gives me a headache, would rather follow them on fb but again I dont feel like continuously looking there like some kinda of fb junkie. Why cant they simply post their appearances on their website or do it when they are on tour?
Websites are harder & more work to update. Facebook & twitter take a few minutes. One of the in person events I attended was only announced on twitter Wednesday for THAT Saturday!
Twitter should not 'give you a headache' if you only follow the celebs you are really interested in & ONLY their official twitter not fan pages etc.... The last 3 in person events I went to there was nothing even online if you used that persons name & searched - it was a twitter post only. With twitter & facebook they know how many people are following them and that those numbers will be reached by posting.
Its just advice as I have now been to 3 events I would not have known about because of twitter & ended up exchanging private messages with 4 other celebs who followed me back and have either sent me an autograph or supplied me with an address to contact them. One even asked for my email address & we have exchanged several emails.
I am not trying to 'show off by saying this' I am just honestly saying I have had some great success with twitter. you would be amazed BUT some of these people like to connect with their fans.
