I wouldn't put too much weight on authentication services. For one thing, unless it was signed in front of you, no one can be 100 percent sure. Authentication services can and have made mistakes. Save the $20 fee to have a Seth MacFarlane authenticated and use it for authenticating something of historic value, or toward envelopes and postage - or toward buying one that's pretty much ironclad, such as if a celebrity is selling their own autographs or a from a convention promoter that hosted a celebrity and received some signed photos as part of their compensation.
What you're looking for is more provenance - where and when and under what circumstances was the autograph obtained.
