We wouldn't if you could explain to me why I should believe that in 20+ years, she's had the same secretary personalizing her autographs, though she signed them for herself for a fraction of that time.
Shirley Maclaine, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sally Field, Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Dick Van Dyke, Lynda Carter, Jerry Lewis, John Travolta and Doris Day all have secs. It is a common practice unfortunately in the hobby we love for the celebs to have someone else forge their signatures due to not having any time at all for their fans or because they don't have any desire to associate with the fans. It is something all fanmailers should be aware of before mailing. Sorry. :(
In what way is that answering my question?

I have emailed the Doris Day Animal Foundation twice regarding this. In my first I said I understand Miss Day gets alot of requests and that unfortunatley some celebrities have taken to a secretary answering their mail...But would I possibly be able to send her CD cover in and have it personally signed. I got an email back saying she always personally signed her fan mail. Then I got the question of why some are not postmarked from California. The below is a copy and paste of her reply.....and my email to her. So I guess her charity is full of liers too....LoL

Dear Paul, Miss Day gets so many requests to autograph photos, and she signs as many as she can.  Someone else does physically mail them for her because it is an overwhelming task for her, and she does not have a staff to handle
Her correspondence and requests. There's nothing that can be done about Internet rumors, so that's nothing we can address. Miss Day is in her 80's and works very hard to take care of the huge volume of requests that comes in. We hope this helps. The Doris Day Animal Foundation Team

HelloI am just wondering why all requests for autographs to Miss Day sent to CA come back postmarked from the Animal League in KY.I have gotten in a few arguments with people that are insinuating my autgraphs are fake due to where they are returned from.  I believe they are real so I am just looking for the reason to tell them.Thank you.Paul

Very sad but true story.

It's 100% authentic...Ms. Day is great to her fans!
Whatever. She goes by Clara Kappelhoff now. She has completely turned her back on hollywood. I don't believe for a second that anything that has been signed by mail "by her" is her actual signature. She went kinda nuts when her son died and embraced animals and that was not hollywood or her fans.

LOL my claws? For one thing I absolutely do not hate Ms. Day. She's one of my favorite singers. But I don't live in a bubble either. I know she had a mental breakdown in a sense after her son died and that the last 20 years she's been using a secretary to sign her mail. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out and plus the mail is sent to Kentucky. Seriously? She lives in Northern California.
As previously pointed out, this envelope is clearly postmarked from CA.

I will always feel great that my signed photo was proven authentic by PSA/DNA...I don't know why people are so intense of hating her...
