Congrats! That is very cool! I just wished that the ballplayers would personalize them more. But still awesome success!

In late September 2011, I mailed New York Yankees Outfielder a LOR, SASE, and a request for an autographed photo since I knew him not to sign baseball cards, but provide his own signed custom 5x7 card. I mailed the letter to Yankee Stadium. On November 12, 2011, I received my signed custom. Signed beautifully in blue felt-tip pen. Can also see where he stacked the card on the back onto the pile he signed as there are blue smudges on the back of the card. The envelope was postmarked from Chicago. I know he grew up in Chicago. Very happy with this success!
