Yea, its still a nice gesture though. He'll probably return your money. I know I sent a donation...and I can't remember if he kept it or not.

I sent the $10 to cover postage back to the UK. You can't get International Reply Coupons in the UK now so I sent cash as I had run out of US stamps at the time.
He is one of the few astronauts who refuses to charge for his autograph!
