Virgil Trucks - Success - July 5th, 2011
Sent hand written letter to Virgil on 6/29/11. Ive gotten his auto several times before so I sent him a letter not requesting an autograph but asked a couple questions about certain games he played and players he got to play with. Recd it back today. He was nice enough to send me a 2 page hand-written letter answering all of my questions...absoultely amazing success. And even though I told him that I wasnt requesting an auto, he still sent me a 2011 Topps Certified autographed baseball card (That Topps hasnt even released yet)...he said he signed about 500 of them for Topps. Great succes.

Virgil "Fire" Trucks Success (Virgil Trucks) - June 28th, 2011
On 6-21-11 I sent a LOR, SASE, and baseball card to Virgil Trucks at :

On 6-27-11 I received my baseball card back autographed. Mr. Trucks also included a baseball card of his own which he autographed as well. Both baseball cards he signed, "Virgil 'Fire' Trucks." "Virgil" and "Trucks" he wrote in a blue Sharpie, and, "Fire" he wrote in a red pen. I also asked Mr. Trucks a few questions:
Q: Who was the toughest hitter you ever faced?
A: Ted Williams
Q: What pitcher in today's baseball most reminds you of yourself?
A: Verlander of the Tigers-also a 2 no-hitter
Q: Is there a team that you currently root for?
A: I still root for the Tigers
Mr. Trucks also wrote me this message:
Hi Adam,
Glad to sign your card, and give you one of mine. Hope you don't mind me answering your letter on your stationary. Well, I enjoyed my career and have better stats than a lot of players in the Hall of Fame. (I had mentioned in my letter to him that had he played in today's era of baseball he may have been a HOFer). Well Adam take care and I send my best to you and your family.

Virgil "Fire" Trucks MLB legend (Virgil Trucks) - June 27th, 2011
I wrote Mr. Trucks on 6-20-11 sending a custom card and received it back on 6-27-11 signed with his '53 stats on the back (it was a '53 replica I printed). He also sent an info card that he signed and a note he wrote to me. By far one of my favorite successes this year. I wrote to him through the address in the database. |

Virgil "Fire" Trucks (MLB) (Virgil Trucks) - June 4th, 2011
Virgil Trucks signed an MLB ball I sent him at him home address. He signed "2x Allstar 1949, 1954", "2 No Hitters" and "WS Champs 1945". He sent me a signed card and a hand written note. Very nice guy!
