PSA/DNA Company

Unread post by steviey2493 »

Say I get an autograph back and I am not sure if it is secretarial or an autopen or whatever the case is. Does the PSA/DNA site recognize what is secretarial or not?If not, what do you recommend to use to get it authenticated? Thanks!!

Getting something authenticated isn't cheap. My thought is to check out the Beckett website and sign up for e-mail notifications. They often tour around the country and will authenticate items for free or real cheap as part of a promotion. They will send an e-mail letting you know where they will be doing so.

well i wouldnt do it to EVERY auto, just the big successes...so $20 is an okay price for me...but in my first post, is that the process and/or what they can do?

I've never gotten anything authenticated, so I don't know the process. If you want, you can poke around their website and check it out.

Here's the site: http://www.psadna.com/

It may SAY that it's $20 to get something authenticated, but there are other fees, as well... shipping, letters of authenticity, other fun stuff... just do some research on this forum and other websites to see if they're authentic or autopens

PSA/DNA are coming to a collector's show near me next month. I'll take some stuff to get authenticated, but also ask their opinion on other items. They probably don't charge for that.

They are pricey for certain autographs. Not sure I want to spend the $100 to get my Humphrey Bogart certified. I also have a Babe Ruth, but they want $200 to certify that. There are others in my collection that are worth spending $25-35 on. They "only" charge $30 for Sydney Greenstreet and that seems like a bargain considering what they charge for others.

well price is not the issue because most of the ones i would like to get authenticated(if i get them back signed) are only $20-30 and if the final price is $50 that is fine. Will they tell me if its a secretarial or not is basically what im looking into, and it doesnt clearly explain that on their site.

They can only tell you whether it is authentic or not. In thier opinion, of course. And yes, they do make mistakes.
