I wrote her years ago (1998 or 1999) and I didn't know what a SASE was back then so I didn't send one. She was so nice with her reply--not a word about me providing the postage! I was just thrilled to have a reply from Mrs. Olson!

Well she could have been more finacially stable back then or didn't get as much mail as she does now. Either way I'm also thrilled to have gotten her as well!! Such a classy character.

Thanks for the opinions guys!! I personally didn't & still don't have a problem with her writing all over my letter. I mean after all she played such a convincing role as Mrs. Olseson and that's the type of reply you'd kind of expect from her. I will definitely cherish mine and appreciate the time she took to correct my grammar. We definitely know she didn't have to fake her role for the camera.

Oh please. Who is she to correct your grammar? She's not your mother. That is a BOLD, unnecessary move on her part. No reason for her to do that-at all. And to tell you to "Get a life" Well, I know what kind of person she is. I don't consider it a good thing that she's like her character.

I dont think she is. She provided me a photo with her holding a flower. she wrote "This flower is for you" and some other nice stuff. Im sure her goal is to be mean.

Some people think that being older entitles them to be rude. While I generally find her responses funny because I had never seen them to be cruel, writing back with a long rant against someone who's written to you is just mean. I don't think she means to be mean - I think otherwise she just wouldn't write back - but sometimes people don't realize how they come across. Or maybe she thinks people will find it funny to receive a reply that seems to come from Mrs. Oleson herself.

Well everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But again I'm totally cool with her correcting my grammar, heck even my mom does it to me on Facebook Tabby! I'll write an update then she comments on how I mispelled a word or used the wrong puncuation.

Piper's reply is a good one, She obviously thinks since we love her character enough to write that getting that sort of reply is just like something Mrs. Olseson would do if she got fanmail.

& I did find that 'Get a Life' comment the funniest of them all actually! I handle criticism very well so I never once thought her unique reply to me was rude or bad on her part.
