On Thursday night I attended the world premiere of "The Dilemma" starring Vince Vaughn and Kevin James. The premiere took place at an AMC theater in Chicago, Vince's hometown. Thankfully it was inside being that it was 28 degrees outside. I had a spot right next to the red carpet and got to see all the stars walk by and even got a few autographs. Ron Howard, the director, was the first to show up. He did not sign autographs by my section but just went on to the red carpet. Then Vince showed up and signed for most people. I did not get him before he went onto the carpet. Winona Ryder followed right after him, I missed her autograph as well. I swear they both signed for everyone around me except me. Then Kevin James arrived and I was able to get his autograph. Jennifer Connelly followed after him and did not sign for anyone. When we asked for autographs she said "Sorry, I'm late." She seemed nice though. The last to show up was Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. Again I missed their autographs even though Channing looked right at me (and I'm pretty sure I was the only one who had something for Jenna to sign). Oh well. I ended up going to the other side of the carpet and got Vince's autograph. It worked out better that way because before he was signing with a blue marker and I got him with silver and it looked better that way. I tried again for Winona's but unfortunately I was standing with some really rude and aggressive people and you could tell she seemed a little frightened by everyone pushing for her. Greg Olsen and Matt Forte (Bears players) were also there as well as Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews (Blackhawks). Vince seemed really appreciative of everyone coming out for the premiere. All the actors seemed nice and signed for a few people. Even though I wasn't overly successful with the amount of actors that walked pass me, I still ended up with the two main characters which I'm very excited about- especially since this was my first time at a premiere like this (and I even saw myself on the news later that night!)
