Sent a picture in a large envelope on 6/24. Received a letter stating that because so many people are selling his autograph on Ebay that he needs, for some reason, to charge. It had a price list enclosed. Football card (provided by you) 10.00, Picture 5x7 or 8x10 25.00, Picture 11x14 and over 75.00 you get the idea.
I guess the millions that he made just wasn't enough.

I got him on a 4X6 for $10 earlier this year.

he's been charging for years. $10 - 25 is a bargain compared to what other athletes charge

That's pretty routine for a key athlete to charge a small fee for an autograph. $10 is far less than what you'd pay at show. Besides, he donates the money to a hospital he works with.

Gale played six years in the 60's and certainly didn't get paid like athletes today. If Gale is a multi-millionaire he did it outside of playing football.....and not signing ttm is pretty common with athletes and celebrities, so don't get so bitter with the disappointments.

according to http://www.celebritynetworth.com/ he's worth 6 million. which is incredible considering most players from his era are near broke

As far as Sayers not making money and not paid like today's athletes. When he played inflation was low and you could actually buy something for a dime. The dollar was worth a dollar not like today.
