This isn't really an in person success, but it was obtained by someone for me from Pres. Carter's office. Admins, if there is a better place for this post please feel free to move it.
Let me give the backstory-
I'm currently collecting autographs of politicians who have either served or were born in the South. A few weeks ago on Facebook I posted a status update saying I was sending autograph requests out to people (Jimmy Carter was included on the list). Immediately after I posted that I got an e-mail from my Uncle's friend Craig who said
"Hey Ryan,
You don't have to write a request to Pres. Carter. I can get you a photo no problem.
-Craig"
Now Craig lives in President Carter's hometown of Plains, GA and even lives near his house. He contacted an employee of President Carter and said that he knew someone who collected autographs and asked if he could get a signed photo. The employee said no problem and got Pres. Carter to sign a photo. Well my Uncle delivered it to me yesterday and I love it! It's on an official photo, signed in silver Sharpie, and dedicated "To Ryan". Always nice to get an authentic Presidential signature
