LOR help?

pretty much all the LOR's i send out follow this same format: i start by saying that i'm a big fan of theirs, and highlight some of their work i particularly enjoyed. occasionally i'll ask a question or 2, but never any burning questions as i haven't gotten any answers. then, i cut to the chase and ask for their autograph. i try to keep all my letters as short as i possibly can (i don't ramble on and on about how i loved their acting in one scene of a movie, for example. just the movie overall.) have i been doing it wrong all this time by keeping my letters too short, or what?

That sounds fine to me. I do the same in my letters. I introduce myself, say what I like and admire about them, then ask for them to sign my pictures.

I do that too. As I have thought they don`t have that much time anyway to read long letters (if they do any that is).

This year has been very slow to me too. But I have used this type of letter (and gotten replies in previous years) so I don`t think that is the problem. I hope not at least.

I write the same kind of letters and have fared very well with it so far.

Agreed with all of the above. Only people I sent particularly long letters to in the past few years have been Daniel Radcliffe and JK Rowling. Otherwise everyone else I just keep to a page or sometimes a little over.

Aw thanks! I waited outside in NYC for the half blood premiere and deathly gallows part two premiere...very tiring but totally worth it!
