I am looking to purchase UK stamps so I can send requests to the UK. I've tried to find the info in the database but had no luck so sorry if this has been covered before. When I do get some UK stamps how much generally is postage for a 8X10 photo with backboard to be sent to the USA from the UK? I have tried to figure this out using the Royalmail but my knowledge of the metric system is at best slim and I have absolutely no idea how many grams a picture would weigh. Any help would be appreciated as there are many great celebrities I would love to obtain autographs from in the UK.

Also is buying directly from Royalmail the best way to go?

I use second class stamps which are worth .30 each. To cover the cost of a 8X10, I think that would be about 1.35

I checked and here is what I found:
From the UK to the US:
up to 10g 62p
up to 20g 90p
up to 40g £1.35
up to 60g £1.82
up to 80g £2.31
up to100g £2.80
up to 120g £3.26

I have no idea what a 8X10 picture weighs in grams. Could a UK resident who sends photos to the US please let me know how much postage you use????

I sent a SASE to the UK and received a 8X10 back with 1.35 in stamps.
