sending letter

Unread post by mtc7390 »

im a bit confused, i dont hardly ever write letters and was wondering if someone could clarify a few things. Why is it that the only address i see when people post pics of their envelopes are their own adresses and not the adresses of the celebrity? one more question. Do you send an envelop within and envelop for them to send back along with a pic and letter? what are lor's for when sending in fan mail? im just starting to get really interested in sending some of my fav office characters fan mail and was hoping someone could help me out. Is it best to send an 8x10 within and 8x10 folded or something? whats the best way? thanks

The envelopes in the post are the SASEs of the poster. A SASE is a self addressed stamped envelope, the envelope you send so the celeb can send you an autographed photo.

Most, celebs, only respond if you send an envelope for them to send the photo in, so yes.

LOR is a letter of request. The letter you send asking for an autograph.

About the envelopes - I guess thats an opinion question...I use a 10x13 envelope with a 9x12 SASE.

When people post their successes in the forum the envelope they received is addressed to THEM-sometimes there is a return address, but rarely. They also post the address they used for the celebrity.

As for the SASE (Self, addressed, stamped envelope) it is a good idea to send a large one if you don't know what size the person you are writing to will send.

LOR is Letter Of Request

What I do is take a 9X12, write MY address on it, put the right stamps on it and fold it in half, then hald again and put it in a 6X9 envelope with a letter to the star.

Let me know if you need more help. {thumb2}

Well I'm one of those people. I don't put the celebs address in the corner so the postal service doesn't know who it's from. Sometimes the postal workers will steal mail if they think it's worth money or have some kind of value to them. :( But I keep very good track of what addresses I use for all requests that I send out. {thumb2}

Hi there!

Why is it that the only address i see when people post pics of their envelopes are their own adresses and not the adresses of the celebrity?
No one should post their envelope with their own address showing. You show your envelope so you prove you actually received the autograph TTM

Do you send an envelop within and envelop for them to send back along with a pic and letter?
Yes thats right. Its best you put a stamp on the envelope for it to be sent back to you

what are lor's for when sending in fan mail?
LOR = Letter of request i

Is it best to send an 8x10 within and 8x10 folded or something?
I send C5 envelopes and a C5 folded in it. C5 is about 6x8 inches and ive never had an autograph back in one which has been bigger. I think 8x10 is too big personally and it will cost you a lot more postage

ok thanks alot that pretty much clears it up, one more thing though. Do most of the stars have their own pictures they will send back or is it best to find your own to send with the sase?

Most stars send there own photos. The best way to determine whether or not to send a photo is to go thourgh the feedback of the star and see if they send a picture.

Most provide their own photos but provide one of your own if want it specifically to be signed. Also if your sending VV, i advise you very much to send your own photo to be signed

Put it on your SSAE but i dont bother on the normal envelope
