Hi,
I did a quick search on this site, before deciding to post a new thread, however I didn't quite find an answer to the question I have.
I realised that the price one pays for a SASE varies fom country to country, it depends on where one is sending from and where one wants to send their letter to, right?
Well, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how many stamps -or perhaps how much on stamps should I spend for a SASE if I want to send a letter and a photo that, with the envelope and piece of cardboard, weights 69 grames (that is 0.152 pounds) from Italy to the US. And furthermore, should I also use an IRC? and if so, how do I ask for an international reply coupon in Italy? Are there any fellow italians on this site that could help me out with that one?
By the way, I'm sorry about the many questions I'm throwing at you, but -as I'm sure you can perceive- I've never done this before, and I have no intentions of starting a collection... I just wanted to write a letter (and send an autograph request) to an important filmmaker that saved my life (sort of)
Anyway, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: SASE help: sending from Italy to the U.S.
69 grams converts to 2.43 ounces, so the US postage would cost $2.92 if you are sending a large envelope. If you are sending a letter sized envelope it would come out to $2.66. The IRCs in the USA are worth .98 each, I believe.
If you want to see the tables, you can check out this link (Italy is in Country Price Group 3-5):

Thanks for your help!
Okay, so the US postage will be about $2.92. Do I have to get American stamps for that amount -in order to put them on the SASE- or will Italian stamps work as well? Is it better to get IRCs or stamps?

You can't use Italian stamps so either get US ones or IRC's. Personally I prefer sending requests with stamped envelopes but IRC's work just fine.
