Swimmer Marilyn Bell DiLascio Success

Marilyn Bell DiLascio was a Canadian long distance swimmer who, in 1954, at the age of 16, became the first person to swim across Lake Ontario. The next year, in 1955, she became the youngest person ever to swim across the English Channel. In 1954, she was named the Canadian Newsmaker of the Year and awarded the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's athlete of the year.
She signed the photo I sent and returned it to me in my SASE in 339 days. She also included a note apologizing for the delay in responding and explaining my letter had been misplaced.
