I sent out just a letter to the Stage Manager at Spamalot on 5/12/08. I am still new at all the Playbill thing and after reading a few more posts I was for sure I wasn't going to get anything back since I did not send a SASE but alas....yesterday 5/27/08 there it was in my mailbox. My Spamalot playbill signed by everyone including Clay Aiken. I think I could get addicted to sending off for Playbills they are so cool.

Yes, I am excited since this is my FIRST playbill.

I love Playbills too. THey make for a great collection, with or without autographs on them :). If you're interested in other celebs who are currently on Broadway, Morgan Freeman is in the Country Girl, Ashley Parker Angel is still in Hairspray, among many others. And if you ever get to NYC don't miss the chance to see a show! They really are great.

How long will Hairspray still be performing for?

Hairspray is still open-runned. Therefore, it has no plans to close and at the rate of tickets it is selling does not look likely. Tickets are being sold through August 31, 2008 for individual and January 4, 2009 for Group sales.

You have plenty of time to write, in my opinion (I'm no expert, but followed Broadway for a while) it will be open past the Winter Holidays, and many more months to come!

I'm assuming you're going to write to the Broadway production, currently starring Ashley Parker Angel and George Wendt? If so, yes they have no plans to change theatres. You can write at this address:

Stage Manager or Actor's Name
c/o Neil Simon Theatre
250 West 52nd Street
New York, NY 10019
US

Enjoy!

Do you send only a letter?

No -

You can try that, but I sent ONLY A LETTER to about 8 different shows, and DID NOT GET ANYTHING BACK!

It seems like sending a SASE makes a BIG difference.
