Surely this is proof of how flawed the TM system is? How about making it so TMs have to be approved before becoming TMs or something?
There are currently 88 TMs, I mean seriously, whats the point? Only maybe 5 at most will ever be promoted anyway
Proof that the TM system is a failure.......
Re: Proof that the TM system is a failure.......
Totally agree, word for word. I made a few threads months ago saying the TM system needs to be binned, but they were deleted.Manu80 wrote:I think the forum has too many people in 'positions of power' I think there are too many GM's and Mods alone. I think the TM system needs to be done away with as soon as possible. I also feel that the Mod's need to be cut back on (I would be happy to step aside if the admin were to take this suggestion on board). At least I think inactive Mods and the entire TM system needs to be gotten rid of, there just don't seem to be any TM's at the moment good enough to make Moderators (and I personally feel that a few have made it to Mod when they shouldn't have...)
I feel as though I am repeating myself, I sent a pm to the admin with my suggestions a while ago and it seems as though it has been ignored, I might post them up to see what you lot think, maybe he will be more willing to consider them if there was a bit of support behind it...
The TM system is a failure. Its still annoying when I had to have a 2 week "probation" period before becoming a TM, yet people who posted gay porn, and people who tried to scam other members, all get promoted after a simple PM. Doesnt really matter in the grand scheme of things though.

if they got rid of all the inactive mods, I think there would only be 10-20 left, so you shouldnt volenteer to step asideManu80 wrote:(I would be happy to step aside if the admin were to take this suggestion on board). And on those points, I agree with "the guys" on this one! The JM/TM system has been flawed from the get-go. Good idea in theory, poor in practice. I remember complaining about 50 TMs...remarkable that so few of them show little or any promise as a moderator! The GM teams just don't make it in practice either, seeing as all of the other moderators have NO say in who is promoted to moderator. You just can't fit a square peg in a round hole on this one ;).

I totally agree, I don't think the TM's should decide when the poll should be set up. I remember back in the day, I had to be voted in to be a Trainee Moderator. I think there aren't too many active mods left.
btw, for the people that have the Moderator panel, does it have to be on Firefox, i've been wanting to add people in the draw a couple weeks ago.
