Dr.Steve O'Neal (born February 4, 1946 in Hearne, Texas) is a former American football punter and a wide receiver. O'Neal is best known for kicking a 98-yard punt during the American Football League game between the New York Jets and the Denver Broncos on September 21, 1969. This punt set the record for the longest punt in American Football League and professional football history. He has been a dentist practicing in Bryan, Texas for many years.
On September 21, 1969 the New York Jets were taking on the Denver Broncos and the Jets were pinned on their own one-yard line. The Jets sent in their secret weapon, Steve O’Neal, a rookie from Texas A&M, who took the punt from his own end line. With a bit of help from the wind the ball flew 70 yards before taking a few good bounces, eventually being fielded by the Broncos Bill Thompson inside the one-yard-line.
Total length of of the longest punt in NFL history; 98 yards, breaking the 94 yard record that stood since November 16, 1931.

1970–1972 New York Jets
1973 New Orleans Saints
Sent him 2 cards and 2 photos on 13 Oct and got all back signed on 22 Nov.
