Re: NEED ADVICE ON WHERE TO SELL MY CHARITY ITEMS
Heya, I have never had any problems with ebay and its what i normally use. Although i must say that items that sold through publicity on my site and other harry potter sites have sold a lot better. My advice is reach the fans, if you have a phelps twins photo like i did then contact phelps fans, i got it posted on a fan website of theirs. If you can reach loyal fans they will pay more. If they have no site then i use ebay as its safe and a lot of people can access it.
Hope this helps a little bit

I usually make a post on the celebrities message board on IMDB.com telling the fans that I have an autograph for sale.

This is very good advice This is what I did with a CD I was sent (I was already a fan of the artist), and the fans who aw the CD were fantastic and the CD made a lot of money Reaching the fans is the best wayspellbound wrote:Heya, I have never had any problems with ebay and its what i normally use. Re: NEED ADVICE ON WHERE TO SELL MY CHARITY ITEMS
Hi lobbylou4
All great advice
However, what I would try and do is to encourage the celeb / agent to supply a letter or note to support the item.
A little trick here is to explain all about the charity you are collecting for, and why you are asking for an item. Often then (about 60% of the time) you will get a note from them saying "Best of luck . . . we are enclosing a . . . ." or something similar which you can then auction with your item to prove the authenticity.
There is ABSOLUTELY no point in supplying your own produced "Certificate Of Authenticity" as they are now not regarded as being worth the paper they are printed on!!! But get an official letterhead note from the agent or celeb, and you can see the auction price rise by 2,000%. Believe me, I have seen perfectly genuine items sold for charity on eBay for £3.00 without a letter, only for a similar item to sell for £50 or £60 just because it has a note with it.
I really think I am giving away my best secrets here
Best of luck,
Ian
