Message Filter

I know admin and all the moderators would be busy, but each message should go through a "Message Filter" and the moderators have to approve of it or decline it. And if you decline it, you put a reason and it gets emailed to the poster. I decided to have this because of spamming. What do you think?
Many Thanks
Olivia

hey, I know of other sites that do this. It takes forever. & I doubt the spammers would care if you declined it, because they seem to just be spambots.

I think that the registration process should just be stricter. Maybe have a section where you write why you want to join, and then admin or a mod has to accept the user before they can post.

I agree with dgangel. {up} Because the thing about a admin or a mod to filter the messages would take a long time..You'll need to have mods on ehre 24h/7 to filter messages. That's why I agree with dgangel's Idea.

Moderators & admins can't sit all day approving/disapproving all messages, I think you understand that :|

That wouldn't help anything either, since spambots come here anyway. They are not human, and they will not stop if we disapprove their posts. Spam bots only post once aswell.

I agree with both Johan and Courtney {up}

I think it should be stricter :|

It seems the forum receives more spam than feedback {down}

Yes and I don't know why.

I mean, the huge Bond forum I'm a member of almost never gets spammed by spam bots.

Maybe it has something to do with all ads? That the bots find fanmail through those, or something. It has to be something special as spam of this amount isn't common in forums. :|

Hi Olivia,

I don't know how many posts are made on here every day but I am guessing it's 100's and 100's! It would take forever for the administrators to get through them and sometimes the posts wouldn't get up till 4 four days later and by then the news wouldn't be new anymore.

The same with me.

I'm a member on a popular forum and it has never been spammed.

So it might be phpBB :|

Well, that's the thing. The Bond forum is phpBB too :| Though clean without ads.
