Hello everybody :P

I thought I would post a quick thread as I have been asked quite a bit recently how the "rank structure" works on Fanmail.biz

Basically it is as follows:

Guests - These are able to view posts on the forums, but are not able to make posts.
Members - These are able to view and post on all areas of the forum with the exception of the Moderators & Administrator areas.
Autograph Collector - When registered Members have made 250 posts they automatically get awarded this new title in recognition.
Junior Moderator - Members are nominated by Admins to become a Junior Moderator which is a 2 month trial period during which the member will be assigned a particular forum to help out on. After 2 months the Moderators on that forum get to decide whether the Junior should become a full Moderator.
* Moderator - Members who are either asked, or volunteer (and are approved) can become a moderator. This enables them to have editing and deletion capabilities on the set forums that they moderate.
* Autograph Expert - (Country) - Auto Experts are level with Moderators in rank, and are chosen on the basis that they are resident in the country they will represent, e.g. Autograph Expert (India) etc. They have special "local" knowledge of collecting in their country/region, and must have made more than 250 posts.
* IP Autograph Hunter - This rank is also a moderator rank, and is given to those moderators who specialise in In Person autograph collecting. (Currently our only IP Autograph Hunter is antona05)
* All three ranks above are of equal level

Moderator CP - As needed, committed moderators can then be invited to acknowledge feedback successes, enter members into the monthly prize draw, and update the database.
Veteran Moderators - These are our most trusted and respected moderators, who have demonstrated a high level of committment, professionalism and helpfulness to the board. They also tend to have a larger number of forums to moderate and have access to the. (Our seven Veteran Moderators are: Chrissy, ozzman, rpbluesman, nowandagain, lutherjw, Larisie, and FatimaDenmark)
Junior Site Admin - This is a new post and we do not currently have a Junior Site Admin.
Site Admin - Admins have access to the main controls of the message board, and can upgrade/add/remove members from the member database, as well as carrying out many other tasks! (Site Admins are: Admin and Ian (TheCollector))

Hope this is helpful!
Ian

How about reputation? What raises the number? I have always been curious, so I can raise my rep.

Hi mrgoo1 :D

Reputation points are given to you by someone else who has found your post helpful. Conversely, negative {down} reputation points can be given for the opposite reason (but this is only in extreme cases).

Obviously, you can't vote for yourself because there are no {up} or {down} buttons under your name, but others can.

My suggestion for you to increase your reputation point count is to continually help others on the forum with queries and things like that.

Good luck!
