George Brett does not sign unless you pay him. Do not waste your stamps sending to him in care of the Baseball HOF.

Brett is an awful signer no matter what the address. He's often quoted as saying how much he disdains autographs, and nearly comes out saying everyone asking gets them for resale.

I recall an article about him visiting some troops and signing autographs for them and he even took the time to bring up selling (pointing out something like the troops deserve the autographs but everyone else is in it for profit). He can't just state his appreciation for the troops. No, that's not George's style. He has to make collecting into a vast empire of people getting rich off the few freebies he signs.

Through the mail, he took to a donation/fee system a few years back but it stopped rather quickly after some accused him of sending secretarials, even with the donation. I don't think anything came of it, though but the autographs certainly looked different than the normal pre-prints.

The guy was great, should be lauded as an all time great but his personality leaves a lot to be desired. I hate to think he's this way in settings other than autographs. Like if he doesn't get quick service at the grocery store he just goes off on the employees? I hope not.

Admin, I never said it was a return to sender. I said he sent it back unsigned and threw in an unsigned photo. It sounds like he does not sign anymore. It's a shame - I had his autograph in junior high but things get lost after 20 years. He used to attend the alumni day at his high school (close to Los Angeles airport) but I never went and don't know if he goes anymore.
