Author of the book and script "JAWS", Peter Benchley....
Several other movies were made based on Peter's characters in the book. Peter also made several appearances in movies based on novels he wrote, including a TV reporter on "JAWS."
He died 2/11/06 at the age of only 66..... He died from IPF....
He will be very much remembered

john ritter of course will be missed. Johnny Olson the announcer of price is right has died. he will be missed, very old but princess diana had a tragic death she of course will be missed.

It's a huge tragedy and I'm sure he will always be remembered.

I just tuned into the end of the news here and heard the shocking news that this terrible event happened this morning
I dearly wish his family will be able to cope with his sudden loss

Truly it is very sad news.
Steve Irwin was my son's absolute favourite tv personality, and he was terribly sad when we heard the tragic news this morning:

Today when I turned on the TV and I read teletext and saw the news of Steve Irwin - I started to cry so much just because he was a huge inspiration for me, and I wanted to plan a trip to Australia to go to the zoo to meet him. I was so shocked, that I phoned up my brother and started to cry over the phone to him because I needed someone. I have sent a short email to Australia Zoo sending my thoughts and prayers to Terri and her daughters, and that Steve will be sadly missed.
RIP Steve.
