Yep, you should only send a couple things, 4 at max since they might not have time to do everything. If I have lets say 8 things i want signed I send 2 envelopes on different days.

I have been in contact with Ms. Fleming in the past over e-mail, she is a lovely woman and truly adores her fans. But you must remember she is 89 and sending 12 items is vastly inappropriate. With me I generally keep it to 2 or under it takes a lot of effort especially at that age and she does this as her way of saying thank you to her fans don't burn her out. With Maureen O'Hara for example autograph seekers started bombarding her with items and she had to cease doing autographs completely by mail for a while.
