Paul McCartney - Signed Vinyl

I bought this vinyl on a flea market for €3, and when I got home I noticed this funny looking mark on the side of the LP.

It says "Wait and See ... P. McCartney"

I was wondering if someone on this forum could tell me if it's genuine or not. It's written with a ball pen (slightly pressed into the cardboard) and some ink from the underlined stripe has vanished.

I guess it's fake, but slightly hoping it's not ;)

Thanks in advance

I'm no Beatles expert.... but I'm leaning towards NOT authentic.

The authentic vintage McCartney graphs I have seen... he writes his signature with out lifting the pen/marker off of the paper.

This signature (even with parts of the ink coming off) you can tell in a couple spots where the signature was stoped and started again.

100% not authentic
quick and simple explanation....
paul mccartney has never crossed the T in mccartney
a lot of fakers make that mistake
not to mention its nothing like his sig.

oh, he also doesnt put P.Mccartney
he always writes paul, but to shorten the signature he pretty much signs paul then does almost a squiggle

sorry if i sound mean and moody, been a fan for a long time, cant stand BAD forgeries
least you only paid £3

I think someone was probably having a bit of fun with this signature. That would have been quite a find if it was authentic, but sadly its a poor forgery.

There certainly are alot of variations to the signature over the years... just like with any of us, your signature changes and you never sign the exact same way twice. However, I do believe like the rest chiming in that it's not an authentic one.

Maybe use these links to help compare. I am 100% it is not real. Sorry

Autograph for director John Landis signed in the 70s probably and by Linda

Also, you could tell because his signature is his logo. Here is another example
