Gloria Gaynor (singer) very strange paid for SUCCESS!!

I love Gloria Gynors songs, and thought she would be a nice addition to my autograph collection.
Gloria sells 8X10 photos for $9.99 on her official web site.
On 12-Nov-11 I bought one photo, and paid $14.99 with my Paypal accout (including $5 for international shipping).
The Paypal receipt clearly states which item I bought.

Today, 22-Nov-11 I received (to my surprise...) a personalized & autographed book instead of the photo I bought.

The book alone costs $14.99 + international shipping for this item costs $20 on her web site, so she lost money sending
me this book by mistake, - on the other hand, I really wanted the photo, not the book...

What should I do?

I think you should keep it the book is already signed so they won't return your money back. Even if you write to them saying it's a mistake, I don't think they would send you the photo. That's my opinion. If I were you, I'd be happy because of the autograph, even it's personalized! congrats!

I don't know about this personal celeb. However, we purchased two different autographed photos from an actor's website (he is in Canada) and one arrived looking like they had photo copied a bad-quality photo. I email a photo of it to their email address and they sent me another one (it wasn't the same photo, as they didn't have that particular one anymore, but they sent me a similar one). I didn't have to send the other one back. It probably wouldn't be worth it to them to pay you to ship the item back. You never know, though. You could always just email and ask.

They must have gotten confused to send a book instead of a photo! Cool, though.

Personally, I would keep the book. Hey maybe even try reading it too lol? It's still a very nice addition to your collection, even though it wasn't the picture you wanted

So the foreman told the laborer to throw the book in the mail to you. Doubt they even really pay for shipping at all as since signing items are part of the job. The smart celebrities actually write postage expenses off on their taxes.

What you actually think they pay it? They just don't like having to write it off as a business expense but their lawyers make it work.

Sorry, I worded it poorly. I would notify her people of the error. They might pay for your postage, or simply send you the photo and let you keep the book.

I contacted GG customer service and asked what should I do,

Their reply was:
"No problem, we will send photo, enjoy the book."


That is very kind of them, I'm sorry they lost money on this transaction, but it really wasn't my fault.
I wonder how many requests GG get per week...

To joe316 - I don't know if you are joaking or not, but I really don't think GG have a factory and a foreman to handle
autograph requests.

I will update again when I get my desirable photo...
