As most of you know, I do my collecting primarily for charity auctions, and I recently wrote to the awesome Steven Moffat.
As a HUGE fan of his work on both DW and Sherlock, this would have been one I was delighted to add into my auctions. It's always nice when the people you admire support your charity work.
Sadly, I just took a call from his agency Berlin Associates indicating that they will not pass on charity requests to their clients (I sent to a couple more of Berlin's clients at the same time). Their argument is that they will not "create a market" for the autograph and they cannot control where it goes after they send it to me. They will happily send out undedicated autographs in response to fanmail letters so go for it if you want one... but I cannot quite fathom the argument. There are no dedicated items due to time constraints, so it's simply a case of sending out presigned DW cards (like the one recently seen on here) and they don't seem to mind where they end up.
When it comes to a verfied charity fundraiser no deal.
Still... at least they took the time to call me and let me know it was a waste of time and money.
