Jimmy Carter Success!

Jimmy Carter is a US politician and Nobel Peace Prize winner. He's easily my favorite president, and I have some of his books. It would've been neat to get one of the books signed, but since he only signs certain items, I decided to send him a photo from his presidency.

On April 23, 2011, I sent him a letter of request, an 8.5" x 11" photo, and a SASE. Today, on July 19, 2011, I received my photo signed by President Jimmy Carter! The signature is "J Carter" as opposed to his full signature, but I don't mind a bit!

Nice!! BTW he only signs with the J now. I think that started after he left office. He is a pain about what he does and doesn't sign. The main one being stamp covers--which he did sign until they started showing up all over the place on Ebay. Officially he will only sign pictures relating to him as President but he has signed some other pictures as well. If you want the books signed, write and ask him.

I might write to him one day about one of the books. For now though, I'm happy with the photo.

Hmmm... maybe he just uses different variations of his signature when he signs things.
