Feedback on the Upcoming Live-Action Hercules Remake, retitled Hades

Unread post by pekred23 »

Dear Anthony & Joseph Russo,

I am writing to share my thoughts and predictions regarding the upcoming Hercules movie, that you retitled Hades. As a fan of the original Disney classic, I am excited to see the new adaptation and would like to provide some feedback and insights.

The movie will also be directed by Guy Ritchie (whom I mailed a letter to last time), who previously brought Disney's live-action Aladdin remake to life. Additionally, I am thrilled to hear that Alan Menken will be composing the music for the film. Menken's iconic scores have been a hallmark of Disney's most beloved films, and I have no doubt that he will create something truly magical for this adaptation.

The iconic songs "Zero to Hero" and "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)" will likely be included or reworked in some way. However, I predict that "One Last Hope" will not be featured in this adaptation. On the other hand, Alex R. Hibbert, who plays a teenage Hercules, will sing "Go the Distance" and its reprise version. Additionally, Usher will record a new pop version of "Go the Distance". Elizabeth Gillies, who plays Megara, will perform "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)" and two new songs, backed up by The Muses.

The cast, including:

Tom Hiddleston as Hades (who retells the story of Hercules)
Bobby Moynihan as the voice of Pain
Jeff Dunham as the voice of Panic
Lena Headey as Lachesis through motion capture
Sally Field as Clotho through motion capture
Helen Hunt as Atropos through motion capture
Michael B. Jordan as Hercules
Brad Williams as Philoctetes (Phil)
Elizabeth Gillies as Megara
Jennifer Hudson as Calliope
Keke Palmer as Melpomene
Denée Benton as Terpsichore
Amber Riley as Thalia
Ciara as Clio
Charles Halford as Zeus
Denise Boutte as Hera
Alex R. Hibbert as teenage Hercules
Robert John Burke as Amphitryon
Camryn Manheim as Alcmene
Anthony Mackie as Apollo
Brian Doyle Murray voicing Cyclops
Franz Drameh as Hermes
Terry Crews as Nessus through motion capture
Zach Cherry as Demetrius
Jason Mantzoukas as Burnt Man
Kate Magowan as The Earthquake Lady
Lori Beth Denberg as Heavyset Lumpy Woman
Hilton McRae as Elderly Old Man
Vic DiBitetto as Tall Fat Man
Harrison Ford as the opening narrator

A white horse and a Bombay cat are also auditioning to play Pegasus and Snowball, respectively!

I predict that the movie's soundtrack will also be a huge success, with the new versions of "Go the Distance" and "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)" becoming fan favorites. Furthermore, I envision a line of dolls created by Mattel based on the main characters, including Hades, Hercules, Megara, and The Muses. This would be a fantastic way for fans to engage with the story and characters.

What do you think about the potential marketing and merchandising opportunities for the movie?

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on these predictions and any additional insights you might have.

According to CultureSlate, the film will be produced by both of you guys under AGBO, with Jeffery Silver and Karen Gilchrist, who previously produced the CGI remake of The Lion King, set to produce the film. David Callaham is set as the writer for the film.

Additionally, I would like to share some updates on the production schedule. Filming will be expected to take place in 2026 at Shepperton Studios, with a theatrical release date set for August 11, 2028.

I'm eager to see how the project unfolds and how your production will bring this classic story to life in a new way.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing any updates on the project.

Best regards,
Phoebe
