Never dealt with them before. But looking through their stuff I see a lot of items that were signed at collectors shows for example the Samurai poster (Brendan Fehr & Jamie Chung) and the Fringe cast poster, Skin Walkers cast poster (Jason Behr) were all signed at the Comic Con in San Diego. Other items I checked, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Jeremy Bulloch (Star wars), Josh Holloway, Owen Wilson. Just some random names. They all seem to be authentic yet over piced.

This is what I would be careful about. They are forcing you to use two different 3rd party authenticators if an authentication dispute arises. Since they already use PSA/DNA there is a conflict of interest against you. For them to insist on PSA/DNA and JSA as the authenticators is ridiculous as both are very sub par in my opinion and have been in bed together for some time PLUS YOU NEED BOTH COMPANIES TO COME UP WITH THE SAME OPINION.

Q: Will I get a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) with my item?
A: Yes. Each autographed item is accompanied by a COA from AutographsForSale.com OR the company that obtained or authenticated the signature. All items come with a lifetime guarantee of authenticity. Opinions from third party authentication services James Spence (JSA) or PSA/DNA are acceptable for refund ONLY IF BOTH COMPANIES decline to authenticate. Opinions from ALL OTHER third party authentication services including the now bankrupt Global Authenticated Inc. (GAI) are UNACCEPTABLE for refund. This policy is due to the documented incompetence of ALL third party authenticators. Please see Autograph Alert to educate yourself about third party authenticators or feel free to contact us for further information

I am Theo Chen, owner of AutographsForSale.com. I realize the original post is 2 years old but I'll respond nonetheless. I have always been skeptical of all third party authenticators, but the more I have found out about them, the more determined I am to educate the public about their incompetence.

You can read my updated authenticity policy here: http://autographsforsale.com/info.html
You can read my blog here: http://autographsforsaledotcom.wordpress.com/

You can see my A+ Better Business Bureau rating here (0 complaints over 11+ years) here: http://www.bbb.org/san-diego/business-r ... -17001421/

I am not associated with these websites in any form or fashion, but for more info about third party authentication incompetence and corruption, please read:

I realize people have different opinions about third party authentication and I respect that. I just ask anyone interested in this topic to read everything that's out there and understand there are legitimate and serious problems with not only specific companies, but the entire CONCEPT of third party authentication.

When you buy an autograph from any company or anyone, you are buying that company's reputation, period. I personally stand behind each and every autograph on AutographsForSale.com and in many cases can tell you exactly when and/or where it was signed.

Be careful about what you read on those autograph news sites. If you knew who were behind them you would not even bother to read them.

And no I will not elaborate in writing.

And on topic:
That site looks OK but it certainly is mostly celebs who sign at shows and such...

If you're referring to the anonymously written AutographAlert, there are articles on there with detailed photographic documentation of incredible incompetence from PSA/DNA and JSA. In those cases it really doesn't matter who is behind the article, does it?

Furthermore, have you ever tried to dispute a third party authentication opinion and try to find out which specific person rendered the opinion and why? They rarely if ever tell you anything specific. They send the same form letter response no matter what.

Keep in mind that many autograph dealers have their own tales of third party authentication nightmare stories, but are afraid to go public because they know it will affect their future submissions. If you believe these companies look at submissions blindly with no regard to who the submitter was, you are both naive and uninformed.

I have no such concerns because I have stopped submitting autographs to all of these companies so I am free to blast away, and I will continue doing so even if it costs me business here and there.

Anyone who gives 100% faith to these companies should put their money where their mouth is and submit their entire collections and/or inventory and then throw away anything that they refuse to authenticate.

I'm referring to all the news sites listed above and not about the so called 'proof' examples. I am not defending the authenticators or commenting on any of the specific articles. I really do not care specificly about anything that is posted there.
All I am saying is, if you knew the who and the why of the sites above, you would distance yourself fast.

Luckily this site still cares about autograph education and we stay clear of all the drama.

Well said Theo Chen.... Proof is there (Detailed photographic documentation) regardless who is behind the article. It's laughable how these supposedly 3rd party authenticator clowns continuously bash each other on internet forums. They all have their own agenda. Like a bunch of two year olds fighting over a toy truck in a sandbox. In my opinion anybody who bases the legitimacy of their collection based on a 3rd party authenticator down the road will be disappointed.
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
