Well......After a year of collecting I have decided that I am no longer going to send letters to addresses out of the UK! I haven't had a brilliant rate of success overseas and I think I will save money by focusing my auto collection on addresses in the UK!

For all of the successes that I have received from the US I've had to wait 2 months plus and I am very impatient!

(I'm letting you know this because I'm at home and I'm bored! )

I think this decision is due to the high volume of RTS's that I have received recently!

I much prefer writing to UK addresses because the average waiting time for a success for me is about a week!

Good Luck to the rest of you!

Hi Smudge {up}

I know what you mean about the waiting :wink: I am reaaaaaaaly impatient too!

Fortunately we have many high-profile UK celebs or others who have taken up UK citizenship, or are living in or based in the UK. In fact most celebs have some form of representation in the UK, and a massive amount of movies are filmed here every year.

The UK is home to some of the largest sound stages in the world, and our special effects guys keep major series films like James Bond, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings firmly on UK soil (to name but a few)!

Good luck in your UK quest! Please check out some of my UK successes on the Charity Forum.

Good luck :mrgreen:

I really wish you wouldn't give up. I do know what you mean. Waiting on an overseas response can be a while. I also know that it cost a lot more for overseas postage. I can barely spare the stamps to send the letters within the USA that I do. Much Less overseas. I can't do it very often, because my Aunt and Mom only give me so many stamps a month.

Well.....Writing letters to UK-based celebs has been far more rewarding and enjoyable as I have a much higher rate of success, don't have to wait so long and can write more as it is less expensive! :D

The only time I will write outside of the UK is for a movie set address as I find them more reliable! :D

Since it's more enjoyable for you, then that's already a great reason as it is. And it is true that it's less expensive and faster.

Good luck to you!! :D
