I saw this discussion in one of the Feedback's thread and thought it would be interesting to see how much do you have to pay in different countries when you're going to see a movie in a cinema.

Here in my coutry we pay for one movie per person about 11$ but I'm a student so I pay less, about 9$ .

And what about you?

I usually get in for about $6 here in the states. ;)

In the US, at the movie theatre I go to it is $9 , but since i'm also a student I pay $7 to get in...

but then the snacks are what cost me a fourtune....lol

All day Monday through Thursday, and Saturdays before 12pm it's $5.00, Otherwise anywhere between $6.50 - $8.50

6.50! i can't imagine paying 11 dollars for a movie

youch are prices in toronto are insane. here it depends what theatre you go to. one theatre is 12 dollars(rarely go their) one is nine(go their a lot) and one is 8.50(go to their a bit as well). these are all regular showing not day showings. the cheapest one during the day is 6.50. but ya i actualy went to the movies tonight i watched the sisterhood of the travelings pants 2. great movie.

movie place in edinburgh monday - friday before 5pm is £6 student £4.75 after 5pm and all day saturday and sunday £7

last time i went to the cinema it was £4.50 student (child/adult rate is about £5) then after 6 its probably about £6.50. that was about a month ago now, so its probably gone up by about £50...

i remember when it cost £3.60, that was only a few years ago...thats cos the people that run it are morons. their grand plan to make up for the fact that no-one goes to it (cos its a rubbish town) is to put the prices up and up...funnily enough the place is only just staying afloat.

then theres also bargain tuesday...when they generously knock of 20p from the price...

thing is, the only other cinema relatively near is half an hour away and doesnt have stadium seating...which is the best.

Quite expensive for me £7.50 to get in, but the closest cinema to me in now about 35 miles away so it costs me alot in fuel to get there and back aswell.
